Review: Helena Rubinstein Magic Concealer + Lash Queen Feline Blacks Mascara

Helena Rubinstein Magic Concealer + Lash Queen Feline Blacks Mascara

As I often mentioned, my eye area is sensitive like whoknowswhat. So, after having tried 90% of the drugstore products (which claimed that they're suitable for contact lens wearers) and failing on them, I decided to try something pricier.

Actually, I haven't been using mascara for the last 4 years because I just couldn't stand the ones I've bought. I've read that Helena Rubinstein is kind of the queen brand of mascaras, because they invented them or something (the modern creamy wand form of it, I think), so I thought I'd go for that. I bought the concealer as well because I can't use my BB Cream around my eyes.

There isn't much to write about those two products except that they're both a win. I like how the mascara is like a really deep and rich black, not greyish like the ones I've had before. And although it isn't waterproof, it doesn't smudge at all! (funny thing that the waterproof ones I've had before did smudge) And the concealer, I don't go out without it anymore. It's just such a big difference. I had nights without the tiniest second of sleep and when I mentioned that to my co-workers they just said "oh wow, really, you don't look like it" - thanks to this concealer I think, haha!

So, yeah, big recommendations. Definitely worth the money and a little goes a long way.

Review: Korres Jasmine Eye Make-Up Removal Lotion

Korres Jasmine

Hello there, long time no see! Yeah, I'm still alive. Just busy. ㅇㅈㅇ
But here's a little review about a product that I use nearly everday, and that works pretty good for me.

I bought this because my eyes are very sensitive and bitchy. Most drugstore products I've tried have been too irritating and would leave my eyes red for days. So, I thought I could give this product a try because the ingredients sound quite safe and they're on the natural side (contains jasmine, cucumber and marigold). Plus I've already had something from Korres that worked pretty good.

It's also suitable for contact lens wearers and supposed to remove waterproof mascara. Firts statement is correct - I've been using this for 5 months now and haven't had any irritations so far! Second statement: I don't know, I don't use waterproof mascara (apparently you shouldn't if you wear contact lenses!).

Cleaning-wise it's doing a decent job. I like the fact that it isn't drying, because my skin is pretty dry around the eyes. I'd even say it's a bit hydrating. And refreshing! Kinda makes your eyes look brighter, less tired. Guess that's because it contains Witch Hazel and Euphrasia (Eyebright), both adstringents. It requires a bit rubbing, but yeah, I also need to rub if I use oil as an make-up remover... However, if you've rubbed too much it can sting. But overall it's really uncomplicated and I think I will buy this again.
So I definitely would recommend it.

Hello 2012!

Belated happy new year everyone! Didn't blog since November, huh. Somehow gained followers though, haha. I've got so much stuff to review... but I kinda suffer from winter laziness (like a real dormouse!). I'm mainly lying in bed, sipping tea and reading books in my spare time. But I'll try to post a few things within the next weeks...! In the meantime you can take a look at the pictures that I took in December, when I went to visit my family in South Germany.
